Hobbton High School Replacement
Hobbton High School Replacement, located in rural Newton Grove, builds on a prototype developed for Pamlico County Schools, adapted to reflect the community’s agrarian character and strong school identity. The design references the original 1957 school through familiar materials such as wood, metal panels, brick, and incorporates local barn quilt patterns into the entry canopy to create a distinct, community-driven feature. The two-story student-centered classroom wing opens to a central learning commons with adjacent collaborative spaces, supporting flexible and engaging teaching environments. A multipurpose space was designed to function as both an auditorium and a gymnasium, accommodating key program needs efficiently.
