E.B. Frink Middle School Replacement
EB Frink Middle School is a 96,000 SF replacement campus for grades 6–8 in Lenoir County, NC. The one-story school is organized in an “E-shaped” plan, with each grade in its own wing to create smaller learning communities, connected by a central spine of shared spaces including administration, media, dining, electives, and athletics. This layout improves visibility, security, and wayfinding, with collaborative areas integrated throughout and a fully collaborative core for 8th grade. The school emphasizes high-performance design, incorporating geothermal HVAC, energy-efficient systems, and daylighting to enhance comfort and reduce energy use.
